The
INSTAR Center (Invertebrate Science, Teaching and Research Center) is a
501(c)(3) approved non-profit educational institution, and is the
educational arm of the Butterfly Kingdom enterprise. The INSTAR Center
plans to fill the unique and much needed role of promoting science
literacy in the region through the development of strong outreach and
facility-based education programming aimed at Georgia and South
Carolina school children, educators, and the general public.
Additionally, the organization aims to develop an active scientific
research program devoted to the conservation of invertebrates and their
habitats. Utilizing the university level research facilities at
Butterfly Kingdom, the program will focus on local, regional, and
international invertebrate conservation issues and involve the dynamic
interaction of INSTAR Center staff entomologists, high school,
undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral students, and visiting
faculty members and researchers. A key priority will be the promotion
of science understanding and involvement among minorities and women
with particular aim at enhancing student and educator development. We
need your help to accomplish these important goals. By supporting the
INSTAR Center, you play an integral role - through the provision of
exciting exhibits and programs - to the conservation and preservation
of our planet, and the creation of in-house and outreach environmental
education programs. Funds designated for this educational center endow
a healthier understanding of our world and all its inhabitants.
Contributions can be directed in various ways, including: capital
development, educational programming, and scientific research and
conservation initiatives. Gifts
to the INSTAR Center may be in cash, securities or other negotiable
properties. Pledges may extend over a period of years with payments
structured for your convenience. Donations to the INSTAR Center are
tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. All major benefactors
will be permanently and prominently recognized. For more information, please fill out our online Information Request Form, call us toll-free at ... |
